That’s why I decided to join the BNI Dolphins, a local chapter of the international networking organisation BNI.
A Walk Down Memory Lane
My relationship with BNI goes back 20 years, when I was a member of another chapter. Back then, BNI played a pivotal role in helping me grow my business. The structured networking, the exchange of referrals, and the sense of community were invaluable. So, when I decided to start my business again, it felt natural to turn to BNI for support.
Finding My Local Group
After some research, I discovered the BNI Dolphins group in Poole. Their meetings are held at the Bridge House Hotel every Tuesday morning at 7:30am, and I was eager to see what this chapter had to offer. Walking into the room, I was greeted by a group of 10 enthusiastic and welcoming individuals. The atmosphere was warm, and I immediately felt at ease.
The BNI Experience
The meeting began with an introduction to how BNI works, including its structured approach to networking and referrals. Each member had the opportunity to deliver a “one-minute” introduction about themselves, and I found this to be a fantastic way to learn about the group and share my own story.
After the formalities, we wrapped up with a delicious breakfast. It was the perfect chance to reflect on the interactions, make connections, and enjoy great food in the company of like-minded professionals.
